Community Outlines

Christian Health and Social Care

The BMC community explores healing and healthcare wholistically—addressing the physical, soul, and spiritual dimensions. Learning will primarily occur through mentoring groups and shared experiences, testimonies, and collaborative practice. This approach fosters growth by integrating insights from science, God’s Word, and relationship with God.

This program is designed primarily for professionals in these fields but is open to anyone interested. It takes a wholistic approach to health and healing, considering physical, emotional, spiritual, scientific, biblical, social, and environmental factors.

Throughout history, both the church and the secular world have developed various perspectives on health, healing, and care—sometimes leading to extreme beliefs. Some Christians attribute all sickness, disease, and poverty to personal sin, believing healing comes solely through repentance and holiness. Others argue that supernatural healing ceased with the early apostles, leaving science as the only path to recovery. These differing views have contributed to widespread confusion and misinformation, even as medical science continues to advance.

While this programme does not claim to have all the answers, it seeks to deepen understanding through a rich collection of resources, including written papers, podcasts, videos, and curated links. It explores both scientific advancements and the role of spiritual gifts in healthcare. Online mentoring and discussion groups provide a supportive space to navigate these perspectives.

Designed for flexibility, the full programme allows participants to join or leave online groups as needed, with resources available at any time to support their journey.

Water Ripples

Stress management

This course is designed for those who struggle with stress, often considered the root of many emotional and mental health challenges. While Jesus encourages us to live free from stress, over half the population is genetically predisposed to experience it, making them more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, breakdowns, and other mental health issues.

Recognizing the sources of stress in your life and learning simple, effective ways to manage them is a significant step toward freedom. God has already equipped us with natural ways to calm our bodies—we just need to discover how to activate them.

Jesus provides a perfect example of how to handle life’s pressures, and this seven-session mentoring course is here to help you do the same. It could be just what you need!

In the forest

Dicovering the root of my problems. medical, emotional or spiritual?

Many people facing challenges often wonder where to turn for answers. Are their struggles rooted in genetics, physical issues, emotional wounds, spiritual matters, or environmental factors?

Some books claim that all problems are spiritual, while others attribute them solely to emotional experiences from one’s upbringing. Still, some argue that inherited predispositions determine outcomes, and others believe that creating the right environment is the key to well-being.

Just as with medical conditions, an accurate diagnosis is crucial to finding the right solution. This course explores five main areas—genetic, physical, emotional, spiritual and environmental—guiding you to make informed choices that lead to help, healing, and peace. In truth, the solution often involves a combination of these factors.

Understanding where your struggles stem from and where to find help is a significant step on the path to wholeness.

Therapy

Christian Counselling  overview for the church

Counselling plays a vital role in supporting people with emotional and mental health challenges. This seven-session course provides an overview of counseling, with a particular focus on the Christian approach. Years ago, a group of Christian professionals founded the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) to establish the legitimacy of Christian counselling. Today, it stands as one of five approaches officially recognized by the government.

This course offers valuable insights into the principles and effectiveness of Christian counselling. It serves as a helpful resource for lay pastors, and anyone involved in caring for people within the church. We will also explore some of the more complex and sensitive issues that can arise in church settings.

Praying

Biblical Supernatural Healing praying for the sick as Jesus intended

This four-session course delves into the many aspects of praying for the sick. It examines the distinction between healing and miracles, explores why miraculous healings seem rare today, and investigates whether miracles still occur—supported by medical evidence. The author, involved in founding globalmri.org, has contributed to research on the validity of prayer-related healings.

Throughout the course, we’ll discuss the role of faith, safe and unsafe approaches to praying for others, practical ways to pray, and reasons why healing may not always be seen. We’ll also explore whether we should pray for everyone in need, noting that the New Testament outlines six reasons why people fall ill—only one of which involves healing.

We will explore in the different sessions many difficult questions to do with health and care
